Miracle Fruit and Wine Tasting Saturday, August 23, 2008 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Miracle fruit is more than a grape? In June, I went to a reading of "The Fruit Hunters" and tasted miracle fruit. It was intriguing so we're going to reproduce the NY Times tasting and pour barrel samples of our future releases. at Periscope Cellars Tasting fee: $12 (credited towards wine purchase)/Free for Eden Canyon Vineyards Wine Club members

Sunday, April 3 in Palo Alto 2003 Vino Filipino! Wine and Filipino cuisine? Of course! At this event, we will pair wine and highlight the global influences in Filipino cuisine. Come by, have tastes of Filipino cuisine, drink wine from small production vineyards, meet the amazing chefs, and have a great time. For me, this is a dream come true....My first Filipino food and wine pairing was in New York City with Romy and Amy Dorotan at Cendrillon Restaurant. They changed my perception of Filipino cuisine forever and I am thrilled that they are coming all the way from NYC to treat us. A mailing list member told me about Va de Vi Restaurant in Walnut Creek. I took her advice and went to Va de Vi and was blown away. We're so lucky to have Va de Vi Executive Chef Kelly Degala not only in the East Bay, but also ready to treat us to his art and knowledge. There are limited seats available, so please RSVP. Date: Sunday, April 3, 2005 About the Dorotans and Cendrillon Restaurant: About Kelly Degala and Va de Vi Restaurant: “Va de Vi .. gives diners in Walnut Creek a reason not to go to San Francisco for good food...” wrote San Francisco Chronicle’s Michael Bauer. One of Sunset Magazine’s “Favorite Wine Bars Near You” in 2004, Va De Vi and Executive Chef Kelly Degala create cuisine that feature the flavors of France, Spain, Italy and the Philippines. About Lavanda Restaurant: Winner of the 2003 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, Lavanda Restaurant and Wine Bar presents Mediterranean cuisine and award-winning wines in downtown Palo Alto. Lavanda serves sustainable farmed ingredients such as hormone-free Niman Ranch meats and Green Leaf produce. About the Villamin Family and Eden Canyon Vineyards: About Chumeia Vineyards: Handcrafting small batches of Zinfandel, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Viognier, and other varietals, Chumeia Vineyards is owned and operated by the next generation of winemakers who believe that winemaking begins in the vineyards. Winemaker Lee Nesbitt’s style focuses on preserving a grape varietal’s characteristics, making Chumeia’s wines true and approachable. Recent awards include gold medals at the 2005 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
